Feb 27, 2009 · Ok if these prop shafts have a compression washer system then I would go with the Man. torque setting, if it has the lock washer then good and TIGHT is the way I would go. 55 ft lbs =660 inch pounds which I would believe should be correct based on the size of the prop shaft and the Nut. 100 ft lbs (or 1200 inch lbs) sounds very high to me for this application.
